General Hints and Tips

Today I have listed a few general hints and tips for round the house. These little bits of advice will save you time and money, from how to descale the kettle to a little tip on hanging curtains.
Boiling 1tbs of vinegar in kettleful of water de scales it

If your curtains get stuck when pulling, clean rail with furniture polish

A thimble over the end of curtain rod makes it much easier to pull through hem

Petroleum jelly rubbed into groves of new bottles jars ( nail varnish ) makes re opening easy

An old shoulder bag has many uses.. to carry cleaning products from room to room, to hold things whilst climbing a ladder also to hold pegs when hanging out washing

Putting a bright belt or tape around your suit case will help you find it quicker

Use your xmas paper by sticking on to card to make matching tags

Marbles slotted into curtain hems make them hang nicely

Use a few stitches to sew on a badge or brooch. You wont loose it even if it comes undone

Use wet cotton wool to pick up broken china or glass, It picks up all fragment & you will be less likely to cut your fingers

Cleaning your house step with half cup of methylated spirits to 1 gall water will stop them icing up

To help young children find you on beach . tie something bright on wind breaker or deck chair
