Today's hints and tips are the little secrets to stop them niggley problems, from flatulence to what will ease a cough.
HEALTH IS WEALTH

If you have trouble sleeping try elevating the feet by raising the lower part of the mattress, This allows the blood to flow back up towards the heart

Relieve insomnia by eating a boiled onion before bedtime

Eat onions with a fatty meal & avert heart trouble. Onions contain a substance that assists the blood s fat fighting enzymes

Tarragon leaves are good for the heart, liver & brain

Bay leaves stimulate appetite & improve digestion

Overcome flatulence by drinking a cupful of caraway seed tea after each meal

Parsley acts as a mild laxative, helps the digestion & stimulates the kidneys & bladder

Overcome constipation by drinking 2 glasses of warm water each morning. Use wholewheat flour & bread. Eat more salads, vegetables and fresh fruit

For a refreshing tonic drink in summer, pour boiling water over freshly picked mint leaves & add a little honey. To aid digestion, enjoy peppermint tea instead of coffee after a meal.

As soon as an attack of cystitis starts, drink a glass of hot water containing 1tsp (5g) baking soda each hour for 3 hours only. This helps kill germs & reduce inflammation

Chamomile tea helps to relieve nervous tension, or digestive upsets. Gargle with it to relieve mouth ulcers, or a dry throat. Try if for swollen ankles insomnia & loss of appetite

Sage tea is a valuable tonic that stimulates the circulation & soothes a persistent cough. It is believed to ensure a long life

Drink marjoram tea to relieve coughs aching muscles, cramp, colic, nervous hysteria, & headaches. Add a muslin bag containing marjoram to a hot bath to ease stiffness from over exertion of rheumatism

Apple cider vinegar is a safe remedy for many aliments, including indigestion, diarrhea, high blood pressure, & difficult menstruation. Gargling with 1tsp (5ml) cider vinegar in a glass with warm water relieves sore throat & tickling cough
