Stains

Update today with some hints and tips on stains. There are some simple cheap tricks to remove stains instead of throwing the item out.

STAINS

Clean velvet or corduroy by wiping with a clean chamois leather wrung out tightly in cold water..Treat any stains with dry cleaning fluid

Use shaving foam as an upholstery cleaner for new stains & ordinary dirt

Remove felt tip pen with warm water soap & a nail brush

Rub bull point pen stain with methylated spirit with clan cloth , sponge down a few times & blot dry

Baking soda or cornflour removes small grease marks from carpets

Remove red wine from light carpet, with white wine

Half and half of turps & linseed oil remove heat marks from wood.. rub gently

Blackened walls etc from smoke can be removed with warm water & washing soda

A chunk of white bread cleans finger marks from wallpaper, straw hats & fabric lampshades
